When you think of Ariana Grande’s style, LBDs—such as the one-shoulder David Koma design the singer posted on Instagram earlier this week—and sexy, skin-baring pieces pop to mind. The pop star champions platform shoes, bare legs and crop tops almost as much as high ponytails, after all.

But for her recent performance on The Voice, Grande opted for something a little more opulent: a voluminous yellow Valentino Haute Couture gown from the French fashion house’s spring/summer 2019 runway.

Performing her newest single, “Just Look Up”, with Kid Cudi on the finale episode of the show, the pop star looked radiant in the dress, which she paired with long black leather gloves (Kim Kardashian is another who’s been championing gloves of late, and so too did Carrie Bradshaw on the first episode of And Just Like That).

Grande and her stylist, Mimi Cuttrell, paired the strapless, floor-length dress piece with Grande’s signature ponytail and before she took to the stage, Grande added a delicate diamond choker from Djula Jewelry to her otherwise bare chest.

The singer’s performance with Cudi comes just a day after the song was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Song for its inclusion in the upcoming Netflix film, Don’t Look Up, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio and Meryl Streep. The highly-anticipated film received six nominations from the BFCAs including Best Picture, Best Comedy, and Best Ensemble, which means Grande and Cudi are actually nominated twice, as they’re both featured in the movie.

Since joining The Voice as a judge this season, Grande has outdone herself when it comes to her fashion choices. There was, of course, that 13 Going On 30 Versace mini dress moment:

A pink cowboy look:

And many, many cute little dresses:

For the ‘fits alone, here’s hoping Grande has a long judging career ahead of her.
