Ariana Grande’s return to Manchester wasn’t waylaid by Saturday night’s terrorist attacks in London. Instead, 50 000 brave people gathered at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground for the One Love Manchester concert where Grande invited musical friends Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Niall Horan and Robbie Williams to perform.

“Before we go any further, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you so, so much, thank you,” Grande told the crowd. “I want to thank you so much for coming together and being so loving, strong and unified. The kind of love and the unity that we’re displaying is the medicine that the world really needs right now so I want to thank you for being just that.”

But it was her performance with the Black Eyed Peas – and their 2003 track Where Is The Love? – that brought the diminutive star to tears. With the chart-topping lyrics ringing truer than ever (the song was produced post the September 11 2001 attacks on New York City), it proved too much for Grande. In stark contrast to the sadness was the waves of tens of thousands in front of her. If there’s one video you watch today, make it this.
