It happened to the Veronicas last year and in 2017 the ARIAs technical glitch was reserved for their biggest international guest. After the intermission, host Richard Wilkins called a restless music industry back to the auditorium at The Star in Sydney to watch Harry Styles perform his current track – and biggest rock offering on his album – Kiwi. Missing part of his first verse, the music cut half way through the chorus. Styles, with no option, stopped as well. Wilkins apologised to the singer who recommenced the performance. No uncle-at-a-wedding dance moves either, instead Styles looked more like a footloose festival-goer wrapped in a purple Gucci suit.
The performances, like most ARIA Awards shows, were spectacular. Daryl Braithwaite performed his hit track Horses with Guy Sebastian and Vera Blue. Lorde got the audience hyped with her single Green Light as did Amy Shark with her huge hit Adore. Watch all the performances thus far here.
