Amy Schumer went public with her relationship with Chicago furniture designer Ben Hanisch early this year when she called him her ‘man’ in an Instagram caption.

As if we couldn’t tell from all the loved-up photos on their social media accounts and the fact he attended the Met Ball with her, it must be the real deal, as the comedian has discussed her relationship openly in a new interview.

The 35-year-old told Marie Claire the 29-year-old carpenter is “the first guy who’s really been my boyfriend”, something her ex partners might not be so happy to hear.

“There are guys who, if they heard me say that, would want to punch me in the face, but yeah, it’s the truth.”

Said guys include comedian Anthony Jeselnik and WWE wrestler Dolph Ziggler – Schumer has otherwise remained tight-lipped about who she’s dated.

It’s not known if Ben will join Amy for the Australian leg of her tour in December, or if he’ll be too busy making someone’s rustic dining table dreams a reality in his Chicago workshop.
