After being shut out of the Golden Globes awards, A Star Is Born has seen its chances of taking an Oscar home shrink. (Bradley Cooper’s jaw reportedly dropped when Bohemian Rhapsody was announced as Best Motion Picture in the drama category last week in Beverly Hills.) It is, of course, these earlier awards show – like the Golden Globes, the BAFTAs and the Critic’s Choice Awards – who act as key precursors or clues as to who will win the coveted Best Picture gong at the Academy Awards in February.
The second red carpet blockbuster for 2019 is here today: The Critics’ Choice Awards, live from Santa Monica in California. And despite the Globes upset, A Star Is Born is tipped to take home large today. In the interim, let’s peer down at the red carpet, live and as it happens.
