We all know Bella and Gigi, but did you know that there are two older, paternal Hadid half-sisters?
Marielle, 39, is the oldest, a mother of two, and founder of sunglasses label Hadid Eyewear.
Alana, 37, is a personal shopper and stylist and co-founder of La Detresse clothing label.
She’s also moonlit as a model, including for New York label Lou & Grey, and she’s the current face of Los Angeles/Paris based jewellery label Colette.
For their newest campaign, Alana got down to her birthday suit, letting the jewellery speak for itself against her naked skin.
“This shoot made me feel amazing because @colettejewelry is powerful. There’s nothing like beautiful jewelry and amazing people to make you feel like a strong woman,” she wrote on Instagram.
She’s playful in some images, poking out her tongue, while in others she wears smouldering smokey eye makeup and stares down the camera over her shoulder.
She models the Galaxia collection, including lots of starry jewellery and constellation motifs, moons and precious stones.
In another she wears the Penacho queen necklace, an Aztec-inspired 18-carat yellow gold choker decorated with onyx and diamonds. At a cool US $42, 000, you kinda need to be a Hadid to be able to pick up one of these.
There are more affordable pieces in the Galaxia collection, from the US $1,000 mark and above.
Alana also collaborated with Scottish brand Strathberry earlier this year on two leopard-print bags, and in an April interview with Grazia UK, spoke about how she’s on very friendly terms with her Bella, Gigi and Anwar, whom she sees often.
‘I’m not in competition with my sisters or brother. We all have an innate work ethic and I feel successful – I do a lot of things that people perhaps don’t know about, as do my sisters. Being famous is not being a success,” she said.
‘We are really protective and supportive of each other. We love each other, we want to be close, and we’ve never thought anything of each other apart from that we’re brothers and sisters – that’s why we remain so close.’
Gigi recently wore Alana’s Le Detresse label — a tie-dyed high-end sweatpants and hoodie combo — to a casual birthday brunch for Bella in New York.
