During several shows on her Adele Live 2017 tour, Adele told the crowd she doesn’t enjoy touring, saying she may never embark on a long string of concerts again.
The Hello singer has again hinted this will be her last tour for a long time – possibly ever – as she wraps up Adele Live 2017 at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The tour programmes available at her Wednesday night concert included an emotional hand written letter from Adele in which she writes:
“I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.”
“Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well,” the note continues.
“I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things … I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artist shave had on me [sic] life.”
It appears the Grammy award-winner is trying to let her fans down gently. During her concert in Auckland this year, she told the crowd:
“Touring isn’t something I’m good at; applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable.
“I don’t know if I will ever tour again. The only reason I’ve toured is you. I’m not sure if touring is my bag. My greatest accomplishment in my career is this tour.”
Lightening the mood after dropping the devastating bombshell on fans, she joked:
“I’m not really much of a touring artist. I’d just always wanted to be home eating Chinese, I’m not gonna lie.”
Adele has just three shows left of the Adele Live 2016/2017 tour – and possibly ever – June 29 (London time), July 1 and July 2.
After 18 months on the road, there’s no doubt she’s earned that Chinese food.
