In sure-fire evidence that we have all indeed lost it, Adele – our voice of reason in times of hardship and heartbreak – posted a picture of her singing into a hairbrush to her own 2016 Glastonbury performance.

Reliving her set from the Glastonbury music festival four years ago, the 32-year-old watched herself belt out her mega tracks from the comforts of her palatial home. And she did so in the same way most of us do karaoke: a few drinks deep. “5 ciders in,” she captured the post.

Adele then changed into the same Chloe dress she was wearing in June 2016 for her living room rendition.

Earlier, the musician had posted a throwback to the same Glastonbury stage. When one fan dared ask if Adele was releasing a new album, she cheekily quipped “Of course not. Corona ain’t over. I’m quarantining. Wear a mask and be patient.”

Glastonbury Music Festival was set to take place this week in Somerset in England but was cancelled due to the coronavirus.

“I have had some of the best times of my life on a Saturday night here at Glastonbury,” she told the Glastonbury crowd in 2016. “Moments in my life that I’ll remember forever. That’s why I’m so excited for you because after this some of you are going to have the most incredible, incredible things happen to you. I’m really excited for you. Oh my Gawd, it’s a right laugh.”

“I’m sure you’re aware that I don’t really have many upbeat happy songs… but I do have a couple, so I’m going to give one to you now,” she continued. “After that, it does get miserable. But let’s just be miserable together, alright? Let’s just embrace it because I’m not going anywhere for an hour and a half.”

She ended this particular night four years ago in the same way she started last night: “I’ve been dying for my cider. Oh my days, I’m going to have a few.”
