Just a few hours ago, Australian heritage fashion house Ginger & Smart debuted its Resort 2022 collection at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week. Characterised by the brand’s signature feminine silhouettes, joyful-but-polished prints, and eclectic choice of colour palette, the entire show was wonderful; and elegantly toed the line between fun and functional wardrobe staples.
Hair and makeup was equally refreshing. The standout was a negative floating liner crafted in a variety of pastel hues (mint green, peach and lemon yellow among them). The look was led creatively by Lara Srokowski for Lancome, and was topped off with luminous skin, soft lips and a barely-there flush of blush.
Hair was done by KMS, and flipped the concept of a simply low-slung pony tail on its head. Instead, strands were pinned and twisted around the head, with a few face-framing pieces left free to soften the entire look. It was polished but playful – much like the clothes themselves – and felt supremely aligned with the brand’s strong but beautiful direction.
