In sad news for everyone wanting to prolong the nine-month relationship of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson through the upcoming season of The Kardashians, apparently, despite what trailers would have you believe, the comedian is likely to hardly be on the show at all.

Ahead of the second season of the Hulu reality TV series being released on September 22nd, a trailer dropped in which Kardashian references Davidson twice: First, she cites her new relationship, saying, “I have a new boyfriend, and I am just having a really good time.” Then later, Kardashian speaks directly to Davidson, inviting him to take a shower with her and calling him “Babe.” He responds by dropping everything he’s doing and walking into the bathroom behind her as sister, Khloe Kardashian, looks as shocked as the rest of the world was when the clip was released.

Naturally, fans assumed given how forward the pair were being on camera here, Davidson would feature more in the show this season than the last. Further adding to these assumptions was Davidson’s apparent close relationship to Scott Disick, who’s always been the family’s own comedian and who continues to star on the show, despite his ex Kourtney Kardashian now being married to Travis Barker.

But according to a source who spoke with Page Six, in the upcoming season, Davidson is “in the background”, but he doesn’t take more of a role as, “the reality world is not built for people like Pete.” The source described Davidson as “a very private person” and acknowledged that during their relationship, Kardashian “was always super respectful of that.”

“He was not on the first season. I don’t know how they’re doing the second season, but he’s not a part of that world,” they added. Heartbroken.
