Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton made a visit to Princess Diana’s memorial garden to pay tribute to her on the 20th anniversary of her death.
The three royals arrived at the White Garden at Kensington Palace on Wednesday, this year dedicated to the late Princess to mark two decades since she tragically died in a car crash in Paris on August 31 1997, at just 36 years old.
A typical London drizzle rained down on the trio as they wandered the grounds near the palace that was once Diana’s home, with Head Gardener Sean Harkin and Graham Dillamore, who knew Diana from his years as a gardener at the palace.

Normally called the Sunken Garden, this year it was transformed to bloom with white and cream flowers, including roses and daises, in honour of Diana.
Members of the public have been leaving bunches of flowers and notes outside the gates of Kensington Palace ahead of the 20th anniversary of her death tomorrow (London time). It’s understood the princes will mourn privately on Thursday.
William and Harry were just 15 and 12 years old respectively when they lost their mother. The car she was a passenger in lost control while driving through a tunnel in Paris, and she passed away in hospital several hours later from her injuries.
Earlier this year Wills and Harry spoke about their mother in HBO documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.
“She was our mum,” Harry said. “She still is our mum. And of course, as a son I would say this, she was the best mum in the world.”
