This weekend might not be a relaxing one for many celebrities, after some were warned by Instagram their private photos and messages might’ve been hacked.

According to The Sun, Instagram informed some of the most popular celebs on the app, like Selena Gomez, that their accounts may have been accessed by hackers.

The concern is private messages and photos celebrities have sent to friends, not intended for the public, could have been screengrabbed by the hackers and could be published on the internet at any moment.

Instagram HQ also told the stars their phone numbers and email addresses may also have fallen into the wrong hands.

“Many of the biggest celebrities in the world will be very concerned about this,” a source told the newspaper.

“Many use Instagram for chatting privately and swapping pics with friends. A lot will be hastily deleting things to stop anything embarrassing getting out in the hope that it’s not too late.”

Earlier this week Selena Gomez’s account was briefly disabled after a hacker gained access to it and posted photos of a naked Justin Bieber to her 126 million followers.

If it’s correct that hackers have targeted the most popular celebrities on Instagram, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Ariana Grande and the Kardashian-Jenners might not sleep so easily tonight.
