Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor are divorcing after 18 years together, the couple announced on Saturday.
The actor pair, who starred in several movies together including Zoolander, Dodgeball and Tropic Thunder, announced the news in a joint statement.
“With tremendous love and respect for each other, and the 18 years we spent together as a couple, we have made the decision to separate,” it read.
“Our priority will continue to be raising our children as devoted parents and the closest of friends. We kindly ask that the media respect our privacy at this time.”
Stiller proposed to Taylor during the filming of Meet The Parents in 1997 and they married in Hawaii in 2000. They have two children, daughter Ella, 15, and son Quinlin, 11.
Speaking to Parade in 2013, Stiller said of his courtship with Christine:
“We just started hanging out with each other and it developed into, ‘Wow, this feels great. I really like this person. I think I love this person. I really do – I love this person.’ It hit me out of the blue.”
The split seems amicable, but the tabloids are undoubtedly searching furiously for the couple’s dirty laundry at this very moment.
