After dropping two new singles, Chained To The Rhythm and Bon Appetit, Katy Perry has revealed when we can expect her next album.
Katy announced on Monday that Witness will be released on June 9, and she’ll also be touring her new collection of songs.
So far only North American tour dates have been announced, but here’s hoping Katy will make her way Down Under in 2019.
In the meantime, fans can catch Katy on Saturday Night Live this weekend. She’s the musical guest for SNL’s season finale, and her performance will give a taste of what we can expect from Perry when she takes to the stage to tour Witness.
Katy has continued to push the boundaries with her new work. In Chained To The Rhythm, she addresses the indifference and political apathy evident among many young people, and urges them to get engaged to change the world.
Perry sings that “we’re living in a bubble” and “so comfortable, we cannot see the trouble.”
“Happily numb … so put your rose-colored glasses on. And party on.”
Meanwhile in Bon Appetit, she seems to be taking charge of her own sexual identity, but also taking a literal interpretation on a woman feeling like she’s being treated as a ‘piece of meat’. We see her body prepared in a kitchen by a team of chefs. Suffice to say, it’s not for those with a weak stomach.
