Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are handling their recent break-up with class.
A day after Orlando said the pair were still “friends” and “all grown-up”, Perry took a similarly mature tact in an interview with US Vogue. Speaking of how she is enjoying her thirties, the 32-year-old said:
“I wouldn’t give anything to go back to my 20s; I’m so much more grounded. And I’ve learned a lot of lessons—patience, the art of saying no … that everything doesn’t have to end in marriage.”
Katy and Orlando announced in February they’d broken up after a year together, saying via a joint statement they were “taking respectful, loving space at this time.”
In the months since then, it seems the tabloids have been unable to produce any controversial intel on why they split, and according to Bloom their drama-free break-up was no act.
“She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don’t think anybody cares about what I’m up to,” Orlando said. “Nor should they. It’s between us. It’s better to set an example for kids and show that [breakups] don’t have to be about hate.”
