As Halloween falls a week before the US presidential election, it’s no surprise Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are popular choices for costumes this year.
For Katy Perry, there was no other option but to dress up as her political idol, and her transformation into Hillary Rodham Clinton for a night has to be seen to believed.
As Katy documented on Instagram while getting ready for Kate Hudson’s Halloween bash on Friday night, the singer went all out, enlisting the help of makeup artists, facial prosthetics and a wig to make her unrecognisable, as well as a red pantsuit like the one the Democratic nominee wore in the first presidential debate.
And while you might assume Katy’s boyfriend Orlando Bloom went as Bill Clinton, you’d be wrong. A friend of Perry’s went as Bill while Orlando opted to dress up as one of the scariest characters in public life right now – Donald Trump, complete with a fat suit, a flaming orange wig, an even deeper shade of orange skin and perfectly tiny hands. That’s him behind Katy/Hillary in the below image. Spookily accurate.

Halloween isn’t technically until Monday, but with Halloweekend almost over, it’s safe to say Katy’s costume is going to be hard to beat. And after going to that much effort (and making our Instagram Stories feed so entertaining) she deserves it.
