In 2006 when Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams left Destiny’s Child to pursue solo careers, no one could have imagined someday there’d be something called an Instagram – well, except perhaps for Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs.
So it’s a bit surreal – and a reminder of how much technology has changed our lives in just 10 years – to look at the Destiny’s Child Instagram account, which mysteriously appeared with little fanfare sometime over the last week.

The handle, which has amassed more than 25,000 followers, is owned by Sony Music Entertainment, and it’s sparked hopes among the Grammy Award-winning band’s ever loyal fan base that Bey, Kelly and Michelle might reunite to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the birth of one of the most iconic all-women groups of all time next year (they formed in 1997).
It’s certainly in the realm of possibility. The response was passionate when the band essentially reformed for one night only at the Super Bowl in 2013, when Rowland and Williams joined Queen Bey on stage at the half-time performance.
And now that Beyonce has wrapped up her Formation World Tour, it couldn’t be better timing. Here’s hoping we’ll get the chance to see Jumpin’ Jumpin’, Survivor, Bootylicious and Say My Name live in concert in next year.
