The only rage more acute than that of a woman who’s been cheated on is the rage of her best friend. Chelsea Handler, long-time BFF of Jennifer Aniston, was by her friend’s side in the difficult weeks, months and years that followed Aniston’s divorce from Pitt and his, let’s call it overlap, with Angelina Jolie.
Even 12 years after the drama, long after Jennifer has moved on with her life, Handler’s strong feelings towards Angelina were obvious in a segment on her show Chelsea that she dedicated to taking down Jolie after the news broke that she and Pitt had split.
“Brad and Angelina always said they wouldn’t get married until everyone could get married,” she began. “And I always said I wouldn’t get married until they got divorced, so I’m officially accepting proposals. I’m ready.”
But the comedian was just getting warmed up.
“There are rumors that part of the problem was that Brad was allegedly drinking and smoking too much weed. I wonder why he would need to self-medicate,” she said.
“Maybe because he could have been spending the last 12 years at Lake Como hanging out with George Clooney and Matt Damon, instead of being stuck in a house with 85 kids speaking 15 different languages.
“Oh yeah, because he married a f*cking lunatic, that’s why.”

It was obviously a deeply satisfying moment of revenge for Handler, but what will Jennifer make of this?
She has indicated that she’s above gossip and public drama in recent times, taking the moral high ground regarding stories written about her in the press. But she might also be secretly pleased that she’s got a fearless, sharp-tongued comedian and television host in a best friend who can say it all for her.
