Ice Spice attended her first Kids’ Choice Awards this weekend and decided to divulge a little about her long-standing yet private friendship with Taylor Swift and, more recently, Travis Kelce.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the rapper touched on her friendship with the duo, revealing, “They’re probably some of my funniest friends.”
“They’re so funny, you guys. That’s the scoop. They’re like us,” she enthused.
This isn’t the first time she has touched on this trait, telling Rolling Stone last year, “Taylor f**ks with me. She’s so funny. I think our personalities mesh really well.”
Ice Spice and Swift originally connected in 2020, following the release of Miss Americana. Since then, the pair have remained close and even collaborated on the remix of Swift’s track ‘Karma’.
Following the release of their joint project, the duo has been publicly spotted together on various occasions, including two consecutive outings to the Super Bowl.
The ‘Barbie World’ rapper attended a Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl game in February 2024 with Swift, and sparked attention for her endearingly puzzled reactions throughout.
“I was incredibly confused. I’m still confused,” she later revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She joked, “I would honestly just wait until Taylor cheered, and then I’m like ‘Yay!’”
The two attended another Super Bowl game this February, which hopefully allowed the novice enough time to study up on her NFL knowledge.
Swift has also had nothing but praise for the rapper.
“[She’s] playful and fun without ever taking her eye off the prize,” she told Variety in 2023.
Gushing about the fellow star’s career savviness, she continued, “She studies the industry and other artists’ careers but is very clear about charting her own definitive, original path. It’s her ability to carefully find that balance that impresses the hell out of me.”
