Much to the joy of loyal Gilmore Girls fans everywhere, the beloved series is coming back to screens this weekend, on Netflix (cue: hysteria.) The highly anticipated reboot, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, will comprise of four-90 minute episodes and follow Lorelai, Rory, Emily and the kooky residents of Stars Hallow 10 years after we last saw them. While the original network series taught us the value in having a healthy appetite for food, coffee and pop-culture, it was also littered with essential beauty tips and tricks worth taking note of.
Consider even the Pilot episode alone, where the first verbal exchange we see between the two main characters is about lip-gloss. From the countless references to Sephora to the ever-changing hairstyles, here are some key pearls of beauty wisdom to brush up on before watching the revival this weekend.

Blair Waldorf, imma let you finish, but Rory Gilmore ‘The Chilton Era’ had one of the best headband games of all time
#11 ‘Me time’ is a must
Not even Lasik eye surgery would keep Emily from her standing manicure appointment. “Well if I’d missed that appointment, it would be week before I could get another and I’d be walking around with hobo hands,” she exclaimed. Here, here.
#12 Cut a fringe at least once in your life
Because Rory’s bangs were everything
#13 Costume party? Go hard or go home
From vintage-look lipstick to Tarantino-approved bangs and London-esque mod make-up, the Gilmore Girls sure knew that committing to a dress up theme was all in the beauty details
