Prince Harry will be joined by his wife, Meghan Markle, on British soil tomorrow to partake in a few royal engagements, which were likely planned far in advance of their announcement to step back as senior royals and move to Canada. But despite the couple planning to spend at least a week in the UK, the couple’s 10-month-old son, Archie Harrison, is reportedly staying put on Vancouver Island.

According to a report in The Times, Archie will stay with his nanny while his parents carry out their duties on Harry’s home soil. The publication’s source suggests that the royal family are “very sad” that they won’t get to see baby Archie, having seen hardly anything of him in the past three months, since Harry and Meghan took an extended break overseas in mid-November.

Though the reason for Archie’s absence in the UK wasn’t specified, it’s likely due to the fact that Harry and Meghan have incredibly packed work schedules for the week ahead.

Harry has already carried out two solo engagements since arriving back home last week and he’ll be joined by Meghan on Thursday night in the UK to attend the Endeavour Fund Awards. On Friday 6 March, Harry will celebrate the official opening of the Silverstone Experience with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton and on Saturday 7 March, the couple will attend the Mountbatten Music Festival at the Royal Albert Hall.

On Monday, the royal foursome will be back together publicly for the first time since Harry and Meghan’s royal exit with Kate Middleton and Prince William confirmed to attend the annual Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey, alongside Meghan and Harry, Charles and Camilla, and Queen Elizabeth.
