Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West attend the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Radhika Jones at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on February 09, 2020 in Beverly Hills, California.

There’s been talk in Hollywood circles regarding the status of Kim Kardashian and Ye’s relationship since the dawn of the DONDA publicity stunts. First, we have Kim showing up to the DONDA listening parties seemingly matching Ye’s outfits in Balenciaga, then at the climax of everything, we have Kim literally wearing a wedding dress on stage and re-marrying Ye. So of course, talk is bound to happen as to the status of their relationship, But Kim clears it all up in a recent interview.

We already knew that to this day, Kim and Ye collaborate on many creative projects together. She’s gushed about his creative prowess before, much like on SNL when she called him “an amazing, legit genius” before proceeding to give him the roast of the century. Even though there have been insider scoops saying that the two are “working on their relationship,” it looks like this partnership will remain strictly creative.

“Kanye will always be the most inspirational person to me,” Kardashian stated in an interview with the WSJ Magazine. She proceeds to talk about Ye’s process in the creative decisions behind her SKIMS brand, and how Ye “has a piece” of SKIMS and “gives [SKIMS] inspiration but also information.”

“I think he enjoys the process,” Kardashian added.

It comes to a certain point where we have to break this down to logistics. Although Kim and Ye seem to have something going that is healthy and beneficial to both, you can’t help but wonder if it is difficult for them to keep working with each other in such a close capacity, given the nature of their divorce. While Ye might be, in Kim’s words a “legit genius,” is it smart for her to keep him around in the decision making and creative process?

It’s unclear how much of a say Ye has in the brand, but for right now, we know that the two are working together and they continue to inspire one another. But to what extent? Only time will tell.
