As summer turns to autumn, it seems appropriate that today Vivid LIVE would announce the first artists on their 2017 program, Fleet Foxes.

The harmonic folk collective lead by Robin Pecknold will premiere new material from their greatly-anticipated third album over four Australian exclusive shows to be performed in the Concert Hall at the Sydney Opera House.

Due to anticipated demand, tickets will be allocated by means of a ballot. These will be the band’s first live shows in five years since ending their Helplessness Blues tour here in 2012.

In a statement, vocalist Robin Pecknold conveyed the band’s “unbelievable excitement” at the prospect of both debuting new material as part of Vivid and revisiting moments from their critically-lauded back catalogue.

“In this time, when all action towards unity is vital, our means of engendering union is through music, collective communal performance, on any stage that will have us, and there is no better stage in the world than the Opera House. We really hope to see you there.”

Better brush up on those harmonies. Tickets can be applied for from today until midday March 5. Successful applicants for tickets will be chosen at random from online submissions (phone or box office applications cannot be accepted.)
