Iconic English artist PJ Harvey will return to Australia and New Zealand for the first time since 2012 as one of the first artists announced for Sydney Festival 2017.

The prolific multi-instrumentalist and multiple Mercury Prize winner will embark on a national tour off the back of her critically-acclaimed ninth studio album The Hope Demolition Project, which was informed by research trips to Afghanistan, Kosovo and Washington DC and which Harvey recorded during a month-long residency behind one-way glass in a purpose built basement studio in London’s Somerset House, while paying spectators watched the artist at work.

Tickets for the Sydney Festival performance will go on sale on Thursday September 1 at 8.00am. All other shows will go on sale at 9.00am and you can find more information here.
