Those in-the-know have thought for a while that there was a collaboration between Selena Gomez and Louis Vuitton in the works, and at last it’s been confirmed.

The former Disney star has landed her first ever campaign for the French fashion house (also her first for a high-end brand), starring in a series of stylish images for the label’s LV Series 5 dreamt up by creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere. Shot by acclaimed American photographer Bruce Weber, two images have been released on social media, each showing Selena in the latest Louis Vuitton looks.

The outfits are high-end but still suitably playful and young for the 23-year-old. One sees her in a colourful, mid-length dress paired with tough, heeled boots, in another she works a leather jacket with a crop-top, high-waisted skirt and an oversized faux-fur trapper hat – which will no doubt become the statement piece of the northern hemisphere’s fall/winter season. And of course, in each she’s packing some serious LV logo bag game.

The pop singer is an unexpected choice as a face of Louis Vuitton, but with 84.8m Instagram followers and counting, she’s got the kind of influence no brand can resist.
