Miranda Kerr has announced her engagement to boyfriend Evan Spiegel in a thoroughly modern fashion.
The Australian supermodel revealed she’s set to wed the Snapchat billionaire by posting a photo of her engagement ring on Instagram with a customised filter of a little Evan avatar getting down on one knee in front of a little Miranda avatar.
She captioned the photo of the beautiful diamond sparkler “I said yes!!!” alongside some appropriate love heart and heart eyes emojis.
A spokesperson for the tech entrepreneur told the Daily Mail the couple “are extremely happy”.
An insider told E News! the proposal came as a surprise to Kerr.
“Evan surprised her when he proposed,” the source said. “It was done in a very romantic setting and he said very touching words while asking her.”
Miranda, 33, first met the 26-year-old at a dinner hosted by Louis Vuitton in New York City in 2014, and they began dating officially about a year ago. As a sign that things were getting serious, they purchased a $16 million home in Los Angeles together in May.
Miranda’s marriage to Spiegel, who’s believed to be worth about US $2.1 billion, will be her second – she tied the knot with Orlando Bloom in 2010, before the couple announced their plans to separate in 2013. They share five-year-old son Flynn.
The Kora Organics founder recently told The Edit that Spiegel had met Flynn.
“[Orlando and I decided] that we had to know the person for six months and feel good about them [before they could meet Flynn],” she said. “Evan met Flynn, so yeah, things are going well.
“Orlando thinks he’s great. We’re just a modern family now!”
The news comes after a report last week that Evan had been ring shopping.
