When Prince Harry and Suits star Meghan Markle were revealed as a couple, we thought the actress and Kate Middleton would get along like a house on fire.
Now, in a sign that Harry’s girlfriend of around six months has been welcomed into the royal fold, Us Weekly reports that he introduced Meghan to the Duchess of Cambridge last week and “it went well” (she ‘d already met Prince William back in November).
Apparently the introduction took place at Kensington Palace after Harry and Meghan returned from a romantic weekend in Norway where they saw the Northern Lights.
It’s hardly surprising the two get along – both Meghan and Kate are the same age (35) and can relate as women from everyday backgrounds that happened to fall in love with a prince. In fact, the Duchess is probably giddy with excitement at the thought of having a regular gal around at those stiff royal events.
How well a person gets along with their romantic partner’s family is key to the success of a relationship, so from the sounds of it the British Royal Family might be getting a new member soon – and Kate and William some competition for the world’s favourite royal couple.
