Lady Gaga has been a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton throughout the US election, holding such disdain for Donald Trump that she refused to say his name in an interview.

After the results revealed Trump had won enough votes to be elected President of the United States of America in the early hours of Wednesday, local time, Gaga made her way to the front of Trump Tower in Manhattan and made her feelings known, climbing onto the side of a garbage truck and holding a sign reading “Love Trumps Hate”.

She later tweeted “I want to live in a #CountryOfKindness where #LoveTrumpsHate.”

The singer is just one of many of Hillary Clinton’s high-profile supporters that have expressed their shock, sorrow and anger since the controversial figure was elected US president. Katy Perry tried to motivate her democratic fans after the devastating loss, tweeting “Do not sit still. Do not weep. MOVE. We are not a nation that will let HATE lead us.”
