Still recovering from the harrowing events of last week where she was bound, gagged and held at gunpoint before being robbed in a Paris hotel, Kim Kardashian-West’s perpetrators might soon be located.

A piece of her stolen jewellery – a platinum mounted diamond cross worth AU$43,716 – was reportedly stumbled upon by a passer-by outside Kardashian-West’s luxury apartment and reported to police a day after the robbery, reports TMZ. Detectives are hoping extensive DNA testing could lead to one or more of the five masked thieves present during the burglary in the early hours of October 3. The cross pendant was among 13 items stolen including her AUD$5.2 million second engagement ring husband Kanye West gifted her in September.

TMZ reports Kardashian-West is said to be upping her security detail to “presidential levels” following the heist and has met with ex-Israeli army members, and former CIA and secret-service agents.
