The British Royal family will soon welcome a new member, after Kensington Palace announced that Kate Middleton is pregnant with her third child.
“Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child,” said a statement.
“The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.”
The press release also revealed that like her pregnancies with Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two, she is suffering from severe morning sickness.
“As with her previous two pregnancies, the Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum … the Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”
Assuming Kate is around three months pregnant, she’s expected to give birth in February or March next year.
The Duchess sparked speculation of a third pregnancy in Poland six weeks ago when, presented with a baby toy by a member of the public, she said “We will just have to have more babies.”
Kate visited Princess Diana’s memorial garden at Kensington Palace last week with Prince William and Prince Harry, to mark the 20th anniversary of her late mother-in-law’s death, and showed no sign of a baby bump.
Congratulations to Kate and Wills – let the gender and baby name speculation begin.
