Just like Married At First Sight Australia’s Jesse, Harry Styles has found the door. Well, it appears that way anyway in a new 30 second commercial that aired during The Voice in America on March 25 featuring Styles.
In the teaser, the 22-year-old walks out of the darkness and opens a door that leads to the light, a potential metaphor for the revival of his singing career sans teen sensation band mates of One Direction. The date reads April 7, which many have assumed as the release date of his first solo single.
While making his acting debut as a WWII soldier in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, the heartthrob with the mane to match signed to Columbia Records to produce solo material. “We’re very close and we’re very excited,” said the label’s CEO Rob Stringer. “We have a record we’re incredibly excited about and it’s not far away from being ready. We obviously want everything to be beautifully done, because we think he’s here to stay. Harry has stepped up with the vision of someone who’s authentic.”
We’re curious as to what this album may sound like. While ex-bandmate Zayn Malik went down the wildly successful RnB track, early reports have suggested Styles – a mad Mumford & Sons fan – will take sonic cues from the likes of Bowie and Queen. And the piano in this ad is definitely supporting this theory. Let us know what you think.
