Gigi Hadid was assaulted on the street as she left the Max Mara show at Milan Fashion Week on Wednesday in a terrifying incident caught on video.

Gigi was walking to a waiting car with sister Bella Hadid when a man ran up behind her and wrapped his arms around her, lifting her up in the air as she struggled to break free.

The 21-year-old elbowed the man in the face repeatedly until he was forced to let go and run off, leaving a shocked Gigi to call after him on the street ““Who the f*ck are you? You piece of sh*t!”

She later took to Twitter to defend herself when an online news website described her response as “not model behavior”, and portrayed the incident as if Gigi attacked an innocent fan.

“To unknown article writer: fan?!!! The ACTUAL fans that were there can tell you what happened. I’m a HUMAN BEING – and had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself. How dare that idiot thinks he has the right to man-handle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho.”

She also credited her boxing trainer for teaching her how to defend herself.

“Thanked my boxing coach today. GIRLS, prepare yourselves so that, if you ever feel in danger, MUSCLE MEMORY can fight back for you. Thank you all so much for ur support.”

The Hollywood Reporter identified the man as Vitalii Sediuk, a Ukranian national banned from the US following his physical encounters with various high-profile people, including Will Smith, who he kissed on the mouth at a red carpet event.

The incident raises questions about Gigi’s security team. The main one being, is it time for a new one?
