For her first single in 10 years, Fergie was never going to come back quietly.

The former Black Eyed Peas singer, whose last album The Dutchess came out in 2006, has quite literally made a splash with the video for her track “M.I.L.F $” – she and her fellow famous mothers bathe themselves in milk in the powerful, high-energy clip.

She might’ve been out of the game for a while but the 41-year-old mother of Axl Jack has proved she’s not out of touch, recruiting a squad that includes some of the world’s most popular personalities – the biggest of all being Kim Kardashian, who puts her infamous figure on display as she pours milk over herself in a bikini.

Then there’s Chrissy Teigen, who breastfeeds her two-month-old daughter Luna in the video. The Sports Illustrated model has become better known recently as a social media queen, and has made headlines by sharing photos and videos of herself breastfeeding her baby on Instagram and Snapchat.

And while the video is reminiscent of Fergie’s clips for “Fergalicious” and “London Bridge”, it’s also thoroughly modern – in this instance “MILF” stands for “Mother I’d Like To Follow”, and there are selfies being taken left right and centre.

Ciara, Tara Lynn, Devon Aoki, Angela Lindvall, Isabeli Fontana, Amber Valletta, and Natasha Poly also appear in the video, as do two Australians – model, actress and mother Gemma Ward, and male model Jordan Barrett, who has a brief role serving up tall glasses of milk to the ladies in a bar.

“M.I.L.F $” is the first track from Fergie’s new album Double Dutchess, and marks a return to her signature style of bad-ass but ultimately light-hearted and fun tracks that have been missing from the charts and nightclub dance floors for way too long. Welcome back, Fergy-ferg.
