If the reaction on social media is anything to go by (which generally it is), the Beauty And The Beast live-action film starring Emma Watson might be the most anticipated movie of 2017.

The actress shared the official poster for the film, in which she will play Belle, on Facebook on Friday, and it quickly clocked up hundreds of thousands of reactions.

The poster depicts the Enchanted Rose, which became the original 1991 Disney film’s trademark symbol.

The teaser trailer was released in May and attracted a whopping 91.8 million views in its first 24 hours, according to the film distributor’s Facebook page.

The Beauty And The Beast remake will be a live-action film starring Watson as Belle, Luke Evans (Dracula Untold) as Gaston, Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as the Beast, Ewan McGregor (Star Wars) as Lumiere and Emma Thompson (Love, Actually) as Mrs Potts.

It was first announced that Emma was set to play Belle in January 2015, and the Harry Potter actress revealed her excitement at playing a role she loved as a child.

“It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to Be Our Guest and sing Something There she wrote on Facebook.

“My six-year-old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons.”

Beauty And The Beast will hit cinemas on March 17 2017.
