With just three days to go until the US presidential election, Hillary Clinton has played one of the last cards she has left to convince American voters: Beyonce.

At the Get Out The Vote rally in Cleveland on Friday night – a free concert organised by Jay Z in support of Clinton – Beyonce made a surprise appearance. Dressed in a polka-dot pantsuit (a nod to Hillary’s outfit of choice), she performed three of her most powerful feminist tracks: Formation, Freedom and Run The World (Girls).

But she did more than just imply how she intended to vote on November 8 by appearing at the event and showing her support. Beyonce gave a goosebump-inducing, history-making speech that bordered on a plea as she explained why she will be voting for Hillary, and why others should too.

“Less than 100 years ago, women did not have the right to vote,” she said to the captivated crowd. “Look how far we’ve come from having no voice to being on the brink of making history by electing the first woman president. But we have to vote.”

“Now, we have the opportunity to create more change,” she continued. “I want my daughter to grow up seeing a woman lead our country and know that her possibilities are limitless. We have to think about the future of our daughters, our sons, and vote for someone who cares for them as much as we do. And that is why I’m with her.”

Beyonce is among many celebrities, including Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Lena Dunham that have publically endorsed Clinton.
