In devastating news, Beyoncé will not perform at 2017’s Coachella festival in April but will headline in 2018, The Associated Press reports.

Announcing her pregnancy with twins on February 1, we were always concerned albeit hopeful the imminent bump wouldn’t affect a slaying performance at Coachella. However, the 35-year-old singer has been advised to pull out of the headlining act “following advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months”.

A replacement headliner has not yet been announced. Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar will be headlining the Friday and Sunday night performances respectively across the weekends of 14-16 April and 21-23 April and join the likes of Bon Iver, Lorde, The XX, Gucci Mane and Father John Misty.

For Australian fans, the news cuts deeper with many choosing 2017 as the year to fork out for flights to the U.S., accommodation and tickets given Beyoncé’s inclusion. The good news is festival organisers have confirmed the singer will headline 2018’s Coachella. (And given the size of said bump at the 2017 Grammys, her mobility would have been significantly affected come April.) While there is the option to sell your tickets here, change your flights (the 2018 dates are currently looking to be the weekends of the 13th April and 21st April but this remains unconfirmed) and refund your accommodation, we think you’ll still (thoroughly) enjoy the atmos and lineup. Time to save up for 2018, Beyhive.
