The Beyhive, the community dedicated to the fierce worship of Queen Bey, claims to have the inside word on some major Beyonce news: that she’s set to perform at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Twitter account @Thebeyhiveteam alerted the masses on Thursday, citing “a rock solid source at MTV” who revealed that Bey will not only attend the ceremony in New York on August 28, but perform for “as long as she wants”.
The source also claimed that Lemonade will be honoured or tribute “in a big way”.

Knowing her love of surprises, and given that her performance at the BET Awards in June was not announced prior to the ceremony, it’s highly possible.
If Bey does take to the stage for a performance, the night is pretty much going to become the Beyonce Video Music Awards – she’s up for a whopping 11 nominations, including the most important gong, Video Of The Year.
If the report is confirmed by an MTV or Beyonce spokesperson, it will no doubt come as crushing news for Britney Spears, who’s first performance at the awards ceremony in almost a decade has been touted as her big comeback. Bey is a hard act to follow, or even just perform within the same post code as.
